Industrial Oil skimmers, also known as floating oil skimmers are mechanical devices used to collect oil. Oil skimmers collect and remove oil from the surface of the water, and are used for oil removal in numerous types of industrial applications. ABASCO offers floating oil skimmers for reclaiming crude, refined, animal, or vegetable oils from surface waters, using oleophilic technology to selectively attract oil and repel water. All our skimmers are efficient and durable and easy to deploy, with diesel hydraulic, electric-hydraulic, or pneumatic power systems utilized to drive the skimmer package. A wide variety of recovery and transfer pumps are available based upon the application for removing the oil to a storage tank. Floating Oil Skimmers are available to meet required recovery rates, oil viscosity, and environmental conditions.

Project Overview

Construction sediments were contained within designated work zones during seismic and hydraulic upgrades at three reservoirs originally built in 1888. The project included demolition, installation of new tunnel liners, and the refurbishment or replacement of water management infrastructure. Frequent barge traffic was accommodated while maintaining water quality through the use of 9,150 feet of tapered Type 3 HD turbidity curtains.
