Regulations & Requirements
The National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program, created under the Clean Water Act, requires construction site operators to prepare a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) to obtain an NPDES permit for their stormwater discharges. This applies to any operators clearing, grading, or excavating at sites larger than one acre affecting virtually every mining operation in the United States.
ABASCO products are regularly utilized at drainage or lagoon areas as part of the SWPPP, helping the mining operation control, collect, and dispose of any pollutants that could affect the quality of stormwater discharges from the site.
